Yesterday was a fun day…. My team help conduct a little ‘opening ceremony’ for my new room. hee! Yes, I’m having a new office! =)

After cutting the ‘red tape’ (ha ha.. v funny…) we all huddled in my room to have a little history lesson- done in a style of a quizshow! Pat did a swell job in the game, and had all of us in stitches. Then Joy led the team to pray for me as I lead this ministry.. and dedicated this room to the Lord!

Each person you see in this picture is truly an answer to many prayers for labourers.

We especially thank God for leading 5 new people to join us as interns with ForeRunner.

“Then He said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few, Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”” – Matthew 9:37,38

So much happening…

Standard

Wow… it’s been a while since i posted anything…
frankly, so much has been happening i don’t know where to begin.

Growth seems to be the theme for the past months

The kids are growing soooo fast. I’m just learning to enjoy every moment of it… treasuring every stage of their growth and development. Truth is, once we miss it, we’ll never be able to re-capture it again.

The ministry is growing too… We’ve almost doubled in size! Now we have 11 staff in ForeRunner. 5 of which are STINTers (people who have chosen to give a year of their lives to serve God). As one of my co-workers described.. God must have something extraordinary in store for ForeRunner.

Personal growth, in faith and character has always been part of God’s agenda for our lives. And this continues to be true for Lil and me. We’re humbled by God’s never-ending love for us, his grace and mercy in allowing us to makes mistakes in parenting, in leadership, and in life.

We do seek your prayers in these areas…

• for us fix our eyes on Jesus, to keep our focus on Him always.
• that we would not ‘squeeze’ him out of our lives, but instead to allow Him to work in our lives.
• for love and care as we reflect God to our kids, so that they may accurately reflect Christ to the world
• for godly wisdom as I (Simon) lead the ministry, for joy in serving the Lord
• for wisdom as I (Lillian) coordinate Praise & Worship for women’s conference in Feb ’06

I made a DVD with Zach’s pictures.. but it too so long to finalize and burn.. that by then, most guest have left when I showed it. ha ha ha!

Mommee says ‘He’s growing up too fast.. I want him to stay baby.. =( … “

…I am glad I wasn’t there…

Lazarus, whom Jesus loved, was sick and Mary and Martha had already sent word for Jesus to come quickly. But interestingly Jesus waited 2 more days before heading for Judea…

The truth is, sometimes God’s timing puzzles us…

If we Lil called me to tell me the kids were really sick, I would have likely rushed home.. and then maybe even rush them to the doctor. Surely I won’t wait 2 days!

However, God knew this situation would eventually end up glorifying himself, This presented Mary & Martha an opportunity to trust Him.. even if it meant waiting another 2 days for Him to do what He already intended to do.

“And for your sake, I am glad I wasn’t there, because this will give you another opportunity to believe in me. Come, let’s go see him.” – John 11:15 (NLT)

Love is a choice…

Standard

I’ve been struggling.. struggling to love my kids…

just yesterday i was just thinking to myself.. i don’t think I can handle this anymore… can’t wait for them to grow up quickly.. sigh! And I felt bad thinking like that.

But how… they are driving me nuts! I know I’m complaining… can’t help it.

Then tonight as I was reading an article in a magazine.. it hit me.. that love is a choice. and it applies to my love for my kids. Further, love is unconditional or should be unconditional. I’ve been wanting more than perfect kids.. who don’t throw tantrums, don’t whine, don’t pee & poop on the floor, obey everything I say…etc. =(

“Lord, help me love the kids you’ve given me… unconditionally.. not only when they are obedient and nice, but even when they act up and are impossible. Help me understand and see that you love me just the same.. even when I act up, whine, and don’t obey!”
